One day, two different sides of Almaty. In the morning you take the cable car up to the Shymbulak ski resort, surrounded by the peaks of the Zailiysky Alatau, take in the panorama of the famous Medeu skating rink, and can have lunch or coffee with a mountain view. In the afternoon, a walk through the historic centre: Republic Square with the Independence Monument, tasting local sweets at the Green Bazaar, Panfilov Park with the Ascension Cathedral, the former Government buildings, the Opera and Ballet Theatre, and the city's first hotel.
