The Oi-Qaragai family resort lies in Talgar district, about 40 minutes’ drive from Almaty, inside Ile-Alatau National Park. The “Lesnaya Skazka” (Forest Fairy Tale) park sits at around 1650 m among Tian Shan spruces. A cable car climbs to a viewpoint at 1820 m; there are rope and zipline parks, a climbing crag with via ferrata, and horse and hiking routes – for example to Boar Lake and Krasny Yar mountain.
