Talkhiz settlement
A medieval Silk Road town, 8th–13th centuries. Part of a UNESCO World Heritage property.
Talkhiz is the remains of a medieval trading and craft town on the southern edge of Talgar. It is part of the serial UNESCO World Heritage property “Silk Roads: the Routes Network of Chang’an-Tianshan Corridor” (2014). Today: earthen walls and excavations against a mountain backdrop.
